NEVER
LET GO OF YOUR DREAM
Hebrews
10:23
23
Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for
he is faithful that promised;)
Dreams
are powerful. They usually seem like they will never happen. Those
dreams that you have perhaps been holding on to for years that have
never developed. The above verse is an encouragement to hold on
and never let go. So often when someone who has teenagers in the
house and are at their wits end, will ask me how can I make it through?
My answer is simple (being there at one time myself); Tie a knot
in the end of your rope and hold on!!! Let us hold fast…….. without
wavering……… and with that we have a great promise from Him for His
help; we have His promise of His FAITHFULNESS! When we have His
Faithfulness to back us up, we should have no frets and no worries.
Abraham
was called the “Father our Faith”. God promised him and his wife
Sarah, who had been a long time infertile and unable to conceive
a child, a son. It still makes my head swim when I think about how
this 90 year old woman could conceive and bear the child. Yet, it
goes to show us that nothing is impossible with God; the One Who
is so faithful. At any moment, it would have been so easy for Abraham
and Sarah to say, “Enough is enough! Pack it up; we're going home
to the city of Ur!” But instead of giving into defeat and discouragement,
they held tightly to the dreams God had put in their hearts and
kept pursuing those dreams until they had witnessed their fulfillment.
If
you want to see the dream God has given you fulfilled in your life,
it is imperative that you have this same attitude. Whenever you
are tempted to get discouraged, and let go of your dream, remember
the Bible Patriarchs such as Abraham and Sarah. It took a while
for their promise of a son to be fulfilled and they thought they
would help God out along the way also, remember that in the end
they discovered that their dream was of God; it was a word from
God.
So
allow me to put the verse up at the end of this devotion and read
it one more time. Even speak it out loud:
Let
us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for
he is faithful that promised;)
