| Psalm
92:8-10
8
But thou, LORD, art most high for evermore. 9 For, lo, thine enemies,
O LORD, for, lo, thine enemies shall perish; all the workers of
iniquity shall be scattered. 10 But my horn shalt thou exalt like
the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.
If
someone were to ask you to explain the anointing to them, what would
you say? Have you ever had an experience of a fresh anointing of
the Spirit that you could put your finger on so that you could explain
it?
As
a Christian, we do have God's hand upon us. He is leading us. He
is leading us by the mighty power of the Holy Spirit. When was the
last time you asked the Lord to lay His hand upon you and for those
“ signs and wonders” to be produced in your life?
Let
me ask you this question: How would you like to receive a fresh
anointing of the Holy Spirit on your life today? Have I asked any
of the right questions yet? If your answer is yes and you would
like to receive, then why not ask Him and then allow Him to give
you a fresh anointing as said in v10 of the Scripture above, I
shall be anointed with fresh oil.
The
word anoint originally denoted the smearing or rubbing of oil or
perfume upon an individual. Oil was very expensive in biblical times.
The oil was first poured into a persons hands and then applied to
the other person. It took someone's hands to apply the oil.
Let's
consider this concept in the context of God anointing our lives.
God Himself filled His hands with the essence of the Spirit and
then laid His mighty hands upon our lives. When we speak of a person
who is anointed, we are actually acknowledging that the hand of
God is on that person. So, if you would like a fresh anointing of
the Holy Spirit upon your life, you must come before the Great Anointer!
He alone can give you what you need. It will take that effort from
us to receive so graciously from Him.
