| THE
WAR WITH GOD!
That
seems like a strange statement doesn't it! Especially at this time
of the year, Christmas. However, that is just what is happening
today. There are so many places in the Word of God where it tells
us that those who are against God will be destroyed. For example
out of the book of Nahum we read, Why
are you scheming against the LORD? He will destroy you with one
blow; he won't need to strike twice! 10
His
enemies, tangled up like thorns, staggering like drunks, will be
burned like dry straw in a field.
11
Who
is this king of yours who dares to plot evil against the LORD?
Nahum
1:10-11 (NLT)
I
think of scriptures like this when I read in the news those who
are against the nativity and the birth of the Son of God which Christians
celebrate as Christmas. That is why I am referring it to War
With God! Allow me to give you some background.
The
War With God started in heaven when Satan tried to exalt
himself to be like God. Isaiah 14:`12-15 tells us the story. The
sad thing today is that the war continues to rage. We read about
it in the news as we hear about how the atheists (non believers
of God), the agnostics (those who are not sure if there is a God)
and non believers seem to be emboldened in these last days to remove
all that is truly Holy from what is the very life and essence of
Christianity and America. There is only one truth in this whole
world. That is, that God sent His Son Jesus Christ into the world
to save it from their sins, because of His Great Love. "For
God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone
who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. 17
God
did not send his Son into the world to condemn it, but to save it.
18
"There
is no judgment awaiting those who trust him. But those who do not
trust him have already been judged for not believing in the only
Son of God.
John
3:17-18 (NLT)
God
is love. The devil is a liar, killer and destroyer. The
thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to
kill , and to destroy: I am come that
they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
In
any of those descriptive words of Satan, do you recognize the word
love? The word life? The devil is the accuser of the brethren. Is
there any love in one who accuses another? Listen to this Verse
from Revelations: And I heard a loud
voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation,
and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ:
for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused
them before our God day and night. 11
And
they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their
testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
Rev
12:11 (KJV)
Is
there any love from the accuser? I think not. Satan has already
been judged by Jesus Christ Himself. The devil has only the power
we allow him to have. The war continues today because of those who
live for and like to live for the devil. Their end shall come. Jesus
cannot be defeated for He has already won the battle.
So
what do we do with those who are the enemies of God, our God? What
do we do when all this makes us so angry and we want to strike back?
What do we do when it all makes us so frustrated because of our
love for God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit?
WHAT
DO WE DO? As hard as it is, we must pray for them. We are
commanded to pray for them from the One who the war is against.
“Pray for your enemies”, is what our Commander and Chief has said.
Trust me, God is able to avenge Himself, and He will in His time.
Allow me to quote Nahum 1:2-3, The
LORD is a jealous God, filled with vengeance and wrath. He takes
revenge on all who oppose him and furiously destroys his enemies!
3 The
LORD is slow to get angry, but his power is great, and he never
lets the guilty go unpunished. He displays his power in the whirlwind
and the storm. The billowing clouds are the dust beneath his feet.
Nahum
1:3 (NLT)
God
can take care of Himself but not before He offers His Wonderful
Love.
This
Christmas season as we celebrate Jesus birth, lets not forget why
He came! His purpose in coming to earth was not to give us this
picture of a baby in a Bethlehem manger. That little baby was born
to die for you and for me and thus pay for the forgiveness of our
sins. He was born to die on the Cross that we might be reconciled
to God. We, as Christians, love to say Merry Christmas! God is also
saying to us though, “ Happy Reconciliation .”
I really love this gift given spoken by St. Paul,
Therefore
if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed
away; behold, all things are become new. 18
And
all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus
Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
2
Cor 5:18 (KJV)
16
For
verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him
the seed of Abraham.
17
Wherefore
in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren,
that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining
to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.
18
For
in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour
them that are tempted.
Heb
2:16-18 (KJV)
This
is a good place to say “Merry Christmas.”
In
these last days the war against God will no doubt increase. Let
me share this with you: Be at Peace; Be at Rest. Jesus has already
won the war and it all will soon be over. So, to all who read this,
allow me to give you a gift from God Himself, right out of His Word;
May
the Lord bless thee and keep thee; may the Lord make His face shine
upon thee and be gracious unto thee; The Lord lift up His countenance
upon thee and give thee peace.
Numbers
6:24-26.
Merry
Christmas has been in place from God all along from the beginning.
From
all of us here at Addicts Victorious we wish you
A
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!
