Testimony of the Month

| At
the age of 12 I started smoking pot and it progressed to drinking
alcohol by the age of 14. By the age of 16 I began using harder drugs
like LSD, cocaine, meth. At age 15 I had my first in encounter with
the law and went to rehab for the first time. Between the ages of
16-25 I went to rehab 4 different times and spent time in jail over
20 different times because of my addictions. During my longest stay
in jail, I spent 6 months, in a 9 x 12 cell, with 3 other individuals.
This was one of my lowest points in my life and I was without hope.
I would go in the shower, the only place I could be alone, and I would
cry. As a young boy my parents took me to church, but over the years
my heart had become so hard and calloused that I began to believe
in nothing. To me there was no God, no heaven or hell, no purpose
in life. My drugs were my God, and I worshipped them but they brought
me no happiness or joy, only fear, pain and suffering. I knew deep
down that there had to be something more to life than my drugs and
I was completely hopeless and wanted to die. I didn't realized it
at that time, but God was trying to show me he has a plan for life,
“…plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope
and a future as it says in Jeremiah 29:11. I woke up one morning and
went to church to find an answer. I sat in the very back of the church
scared to death, not knowing what to do or where to go. The Pastor
approached me and told me about Addicts Victorious and they sent me
through the Addicts Victorious 5-Day Biblical Counseling Program.
It was through the 5-Day program that I was introduced to Jesus' life
changing power and for once I found the hope I was looking for. During
the 5-Day Biblical Counseling Program God revealed himself to me personally,
in my heart that, I am worth something, and that He does love me and
have a plan for my life and I surrendered my life to Him. I now have
joy and peace in my life like never before because of Jesus Christ.
Not only has God made a change in my life, but last Sunday my mother
attended church with me and accepted Jesus as her personal savior
as well. This is the greatest Christmas present anyone could receive
in his or her life.
