Testimony of the Month

“I'm a 16 year old male that recently tried to commit suicide by shooting myself with a 22 rifle, in fact the bullet is still lodged in the bone in my shoulder so it is not possible to have an operation to take it out. The reason I tried to take my life is because I felt that I was letting people down, I was depressed, and had severe anxiety. This was being caused by problems I was having with my family and at school. My problems in school were caused by my low self esteem where I was constantly trying to be the class clown and be the tough guy by chewing tobacco. I was really trying to be something I was not. The problems from my family stem from that fact that I felt that they really didn't care, that I couldn't do anything right, and a certain amount of what I felt was verbal abuse from my father.

"After I shot myself, my family contacted Addicts Victorious about getting me in the 5-Day Biblical Counseling Program. I have just recently graduated from this program. The program has totally been a life changing experience. It has made me realize how much God truly loves me. No matter what others think about me or I think about myself I now know that God loves me more than anything else in this world. I now have a personal relationship with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. So, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the people who pray for and support this program which made it possible to be here when I needed it most.”
