“I grew up in a dysfunctional family and had many family members
that struggle with addictions to drugs and alcohol. At the young
age of 11 I was introduced to meth by family and friends and began
using and quickly became addicted to meth. Early on many people
did not know of my addiction because I was good at hiding it from
everyone, however by age 13 my life began spiraling out of control
because of meth. I began getting in trouble with the law and was
kicked out of school at times because of my addiction. My mom and
step dad got divorced at age 14 and things continued to worsen.
I quickly learned how to cook meth at age 15 and I also became pregnant
at 15 as well. I did stop using during my pregnancy, but only 3
short months after my daugther's birth I went back to my addiction.
Cooking meth was way more important to me than taking care
of my child, and I eventually I lost custody of my daughter. As
a result of my addiction I was arrested 14 times, by the age of
19, and had been in and out of jail for 3 years. My wake up call
occurred at age 19 when I was arrested for possession of meth precursors
and then was sent to prison for 1-½ years as a result. The
entire time that I was struggling with my addiction I wanted to
change so bad and hated my life. I was searching for help but the
devil had control of me.
Before being sent to prison I found out about Addicts
Victorious and the 5-Day Biblical Counseling Program
and while in prison I decided I had to make a change once I was
released. Just prior to my release from prison I wrote a letter
to Addicts Victorious requesting information and I was
sent a letter back telling me about the Support Group Meetings available.
Once I was released from prison at 21 years old I attended a Support
Group Meeting and then signed up for the 5-Day Biblical
Counseling Program and my life is now completely changed because
of the power of Jesus Christ. Because of the Addicts Victorious
5-Day Program the blinders have been removed from my eyes
and I now see the truth. I now have a personal relationship with
Jesus and know that surrendering my life to Jesus is the only way
to be set free and I have given him full control and now I have
no desire for my past addictions.”
