Two years ago I never would have pictured myself as a full-time student, having a good job that I like, enjoying spending time with my children, involved at church, and volunteering at Addicts Victorious. I was facing serious time in prison and the loss of my children. The support from my church family, and the Addicts Victorious 5-Day Biblical Counseling Program, where I was delivered and set free, has helped me get through difficult times. This foundation helped as I worked through the process of putting my past behind me and making the decision to not let that past dictate my future. I volunteer at Addicts Victorious because I like to give back what was given to me and to offer encouragement to someone else when I know how desperate they must feel. I want them to know that you can have a different way of life and it's worth the fight. I am currently a full time student majoring in office technology. School has helped me regain confidence in myself and my abilities to succeed in life. The accomplishment of making the dean's list motivates me to further my education. Now I am involved in positive activities and have a stronger and healthier bond with my sons. I am grateful to show them a different and better way of life. My past no longer dictates my future.
