Addicts Victorious'

Testimony of the Month

I used to have a job where I made all of the money that I would ever want or need, and it was a GREAT HIGH!  I got to loving my money (1 Timothy 6:10 points out that, "the root of all evil is the love of money"), more than I did my family!  I finally got to a point where all of the money wasn't a big enough high, so I started looking for the ultimate high...which, for me, turned out to be crack cocaine.

I made several unsuccessful attempts to quit on my own and kept returning back to the use of it.  After losing every asset I had (campers, cars, boats, golf carts), completely maxing out all of my credit cards, drawing money out of my retirement accounts, losing my wife and marriage, and finally being arrested for "possession," and losing the right to see my granddaughter (who is the apple of my eye), I realized that I needed help BADLY, but I didn't know where to look for it!

Lo and behold, my arrest made the front page of our local newspaper, and directly under that was a headline for Addicts Victorious!  Imagine that!  I set up a meeting with my attorney and told him what I had seen in the newspaper.  He told me that he had just recently received a pamphlet from Addicts Victorious.  We both agreed that this was where I needed to go to get the help I needed.

After registering for the Addicts Victorious 5-Day Biblical Counseling Program, I had great doubts and fears, due to the fact that this was a Christian-ran Program, and I was not of the Christian faith.  I didn't really know how they would perceive me or receive me.  It was just a short time into the introductory meeting that it was quite clear: I was going to be accepted by all of them, and that God loved me, forgave me and accepted me!  All I had to do was open up the door of my heart and let Jesus in, and receive Him as my personal Lord and Savior, and choose a different path!  It was that simple!!

I would like to thank the whole staff at Addicts Victorious for taking their time, and showing me the love of Christ through their loving and caring for people like me.....enough to put on such a Program.
