At the age of 13 I started drinking alcohol and experimenting with marijuana. I quickly became addicted to alcohol and at 19 I was arrested for the first time and for the next 15 years I was arrested over 20 different times due to my addiction to alcohol. In my 20's and 30's I also began using meth and cocaine and my addictions were controlling my life.

I had my first child at age 20 and due to my alcohol addiction the relationship with my first child was completely destroyed. My alcohol addiction has also caused major problems with another one of my children because I was recently arrested for domestic battery for slapping my daughter while intoxicated. My first marriage occurred at age 30, however my alcohol addiction caused numerous problems and then eventually ended up destroying my marriage also. Over the past 20 years I attended out patient rehabs, 5 different times, and also participated in an in-patient program on one occasion but nothing worked. I continued to be controlled by my addiction and was scared to live and recently hit rock bottom. As a child I was taught about religion but never learned that God was looking for a personal relationship with me. I now have found a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, He has set me free from my addiction and I am no longer afraid to live.
